Mini Nursery in San Francisco.

This project has been insanely fun. The sweetest couple expecting a gorgeous baby in San Francisco. Their 1920's craftsman style apartment has original wood floors and detailing, and in classic San Francisco style, living space is expensive and hard to come by. So, we needed to make baby's first space out of an over-sized living room closet. A challenge I was excited and anxious to take on! Function is the most important component when designing a small space; everything must serve a purpose and 'work' for you.

Our first mission was to remove the hanging rod and shelf from the closet to redefine the space as a "room" and not a closet. We looked for interesting storage opportunities with shelving and ledges and added lots of art and wall decoration so that when you look inside this sweet space it makes a real impact and tells the personality of this new family.

I created three separate ideas, each sophisticated but sweet. Can you guess which inspiration they ultimately decided on?
